Emergency support for Nepal after devastating floods

For more than 15 years, WWF-Canada has worked in partnership with our colleagues at WWF-Nepal to help protect and restore habitat for Nepal’s remarkable — and growing — wild tiger population, as well as snow leopards, Asian elephants and rhinos.

Today, I write with an urgent plea to make an emergency donation to help the people of Nepal rebuild after recent devastating floods.

The need is acute. The disaster last month caused widespread destruction, damaging homes, roads, bridges and other critical infrastructure. Families and communities across the affected areas are now working to recover and rebuild.

These are the communities that have helped make Nepal a global conservation success story. When our partnership began, there were only about 120 tigers left in the region.

Thanks to years of dedicated conservation work — supported by people like you — that number has grown to more than 425.

Behind every conservation achievement are people: community members, local leaders, staff and partners whose dedication has helped protect Nepal’s extraordinary wildlife. Many have been directly affected by the floods and are facing an uncertain road ahead.

In times like these, standing together matters.
