National Sweater Day in Ottawa: Panda goes to Parliament!
By Ximena Salcedo
We had an incredible day! The Ottawa Panda team visited the Roger Saint-Denis elementary school, and we were really happy to see how kids from ages 6 to 12 are aware of saving energy, climate change and endangered species. It is really nice to see that whenever this generation takes over our planet is going to be in good hands.
The Ottawa Panda team was really lucky to have one of our Grannies with us; Granny Liliane Day from our neighboring office – the Canadian Boreal Initiative – was a great help explaining to the kids what the purpose of WWF’s National Sweater Day campaign is. We played hangman with words like climate change and then asking the kids what they knew about this topic and like I mentioned before what a surprise it was to see so many hands being raised to give us an answer of what is it and how they help in energy conservation at home.
And to finish our day, the Ottawa Panda team went to the Parliament Hill and to our surprise we had quite a few MPs supporting our campaign.
And last but not least, some of them even show us some love …
