  1. What is the Nature Restoration Forum 2025?

The Nature Restoration Forum 2025 is a national, invitation-only event hosted by WWF-Canada. It brings together restoration practitioners, Indigenous representatives, researchers, government officials, and partner organizations from across Canada. The Forum is designed to foster dialogue, knowledge exchange, and strategic collaboration to support ecosystem restoration efforts nationwide.


  1. When and where is the Forum taking place?

The Forum will take place in person at the Ottawa Marriott Hotel, 100 Kent Street, Ottawa, ON, on Oct. 29-30, 2025. Programming will run for a full day on October 29 and a half day on October 30.


  1. What is the purpose of the Forum?

The Forum aims to:

  • Share key learnings, challenges, and opportunities in restoration.
  • Strengthen cross-sector and cross-regional connections.
  • Foster collaboration and peer learning.
  • Co-design a future restoration network for knowledge exchange and capacity building.
  • Take a collective “pulse check” on the restoration landscape in Canada.

  1. Who will be attending the Forum?

The Forum will bring together a wide range of participants, including:

  • Emerging practitioners – Organizations beginning restoration work and seeking guidance.
  • Active restoration groups – Teams currently engaged in hands-on ecosystem restoration.
  • Sustainers and stewards – Organizations focused on monitoring and sustaining restoration over time.
  • Policy and research groups – Government and academic representatives advancing research and implementation strategies.

These different voices are essential to promote rich dialogue and cross-pollination of ideas and experiences.


  1. Is the Forum open to the public?

No, the Nature Restoration Forum 2025 is an invitation-only event. This helps ensure that participants reflect a balance of perspectives from across regions and sectors working on ecosystem restoration in Canada.


  1. What if I can no longer attend, can someone else take my place?

Yes. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your invitation to another representative from your organization. Please contact us in advance to confirm the change.

If your organization has an additional colleague interested in attending, they may contact us at [email protected]. While space is limited, we will do our best to accommodate more attendees depending on availability.


  1. Will there be a virtual attendance option?

No, the Forum is in-person only. It is designed to foster meaningful collaboration, dialogue, and networking that benefits from face-to-face interaction.


  1. In what language will the Forum be conducted?

The Forum will be held entirely in English.


  1. Are meals provided during the event?

Yes. We will provide:

  • Coffee breaks on both days
  • Lunch and light snacks during the networking session on day 1 (Oct. 29)
  • Light breakfast on day 2 (Oct. 30)

  1. What kind of networking opportunities will the Forum provide?

The Forum includes structured and informal networking moments throughout the agenda. Notably, there will be a dedicated networking session with light refreshments at the end of day 1, offering a chance to build relationships and exchange ideas with others in the restoration community.


  1. Is there financial assistance available? 

At the moment, we do not offer any financial assistance. Participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation. 


  1. What does  the Forum cost?

The forum is free to attend; however, it is an invitation-only event. 


  1. What are the accommodation options near the venue? 

The event will be held at the Ottawa Marriott Hotel. Our block of rooms have been sold out.

A block of rooms has been secured at a special rate for forum participants who want to book their accommodation on any date between Oct. 27 and Nov. 1, 2025. The room block is limited, and availability is based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attendees are responsible for booking their own accommodation. 


  1. Where should I park? 

There are several parking options at the Ottawa Marriott Hotel. However, parking is managed by Impark parking (not the hotel). Below are the options: 

  • SELF-PARKING – Pay in garage
    • $23/24 hours with no in-and-out privileges
    • $5 flat rate for evenings from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • SELF-PARKING – Charge to room – In-and-out privileges
    • $29 (+tax) per night with unlimited in-and-out privileges
  • VALET PARKING – Underground
    • $45 (+tax) per vehicle
    • No valet service or parking spots available for vehicles taller than 6’

All prices are subject to change without notice and parking is not guaranteed.

Parking will be at the Place de Ville Public Parking which can be accessed from both Kent Street and Queen Street. 

Parking on level 1 is exclusively reserved for registered hotel guests. Visitors and meeting attendees are welcome to park on levels 2, 3, and 4 (green section).


  1. Are there public transit options? 

Yes, there are public transportation options that will help you travel to and from the Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and the Ottawa train station. We suggest checking the Ottawa public transit webpage.

The Lyon LRT station, Ottawa’s light rail transit system, is directly adjacent to the hotel.

Those with a Presto card can use it on Ottawa public transit (OC Transpo).


  1. What is the cost for a taxi or Uber from and to the Ottawa airport? 

Under normal conditions, a taxi will cost around 50 one way and will take around 15 minutes from the Ottawa International Airport (YOW) to the Ottawa Marriott Hotel. However, this price might change depending on road conditions and other factors. 

Similarly, an UberX ride from the Ottawa International Airport to Ottawa Marriott Hotel costs about 28. However, during surge pricing, the fare could increase significantly, often by 1.5 to 3 times the standard rate, depending on demand.
