TVOKids celebrates Canada Water Week and teaches kids about the importance of water

By Kara Harun, Host, TVOKids’ The Space
It’s a whole week dedicated to exploring the different sides of H2O. TVOKids has some really fun guests in The Space to tell us what makes water so important and teach us how to conserve it.
On Monday, March 18, a group of amphibians will be joining me in The Space and we’ll be learning about endangered species. That means, a couple of frogs, a Salamander and an Axolotl will all be in the studio. I’m not sure if you’ve ever seen an Axolotl before, but they look like lizards from space! An interesting fact about Axolotls is that they only live in one lake in the entire world. All of the other lakes they used to live in were drained and used for bottled drinking water.

I can’t wait to hang out with The Water Brothers on Tuesday, March 19. Alex and Tyler have seen water all over the world and will be joining us in The Space to talk about it. I love to conserve water and always carry my own water bottle with me. The Water Brothers are going to talk to us about the difference between bottled water and tap water. Can you guess what it is?

Because water is a part of our everyday lives and it’s everywhere, we should really try to protect it. So, what are you doing for water week?
The Space  airs weekdays from 3:30 – 7 pm ET on TVO. The above special Water Week segments air from 4 pm to 5:30 pm on Monday, March 18 and Tuesday, March 19 as part of The Space’s  Water Week programming.
