Tell Me Tuesdays: Are you doing your part this summer?

I’ve got a few planet-friendly things going on this summer. I’ve got some conservation projects for around the house and I’m not going to vacation outside my city (ok, I wasn’t planning to anyway, so don’t call me a staycation saint) but, the best thing I am doing for the environment this summer is spying on my neighbour. Yes, Yves, if you read my blog, I’m spying on you! You see, Yves has inspired me. He is using all his energy and passion to start some organic gardening, literally all around his house.
He’s built a raised bed in his backyard, he’s got kale growing in his front flower bed and I’m anxious to see how his cherry tomato plants do, which I can easily sneak a peak at from my kitchen window. He is going all out. But, for the 7 years that I’ve had a backyard I have yet to plant anything I can eat. He just might inspire me to take the plunge and green thumb-it next summer. For now, I’ve got my eye on him.
Let me know what you are doing this summer. I’ll shout out my favourite comment in next week’s Tell Me Tuesdays post, so keep the inspiring thoughts coming!

Last Week:
Everyone who replied last week deeply understands how we need to move forward effectively to save the planet.
Now, I’m supposed to give a shout out to my favourite comment, to tell you the truth, I just enjoyed the whole conversation. But, since I said I’d pick my fav, I’ll shout out to Kathleen and not just because she agreed with me 100% 🙂 Everyone told great stories but I couldn’t stop thinking about the kids on the field trip in Kathleen’s story. What lasting impact will that one outing have on them? What great decision will they make in the future just because of that one trip?
