Tell Me Tuesday: How are you celebrating Mother’s Day?

Now that I can no longer get away with just giving homemade cards (or can I?), I’m always on the hunt for great Mother’s Day gift and celebration ideas that are eco-friendly.
The Daily Green has some great suggestions, ranging from organic chocolate and flowers to natural body care products.  Cool Earth recommends sponsoring trees and making donations.  And here at WWF, we naturally think that every mom is pre-disposed to loving our cuddly symbolic wildlife adoption kits, which not only mean you give you mom an adorable stuffed animal, you’re also helping  fund WWF’s work to conserve real wildlife in Canada and around the world. (Please note that today, May 8, is the last day you can order for urban delivery before this Mother’s Day – so place your orders now!)

Personally, I’m thinking of going with (Mom, if you’re reading this, STOP NOW!) a snow leopard, since I’ve been sharing a lot of stories from Dr. Rinjan Shrestha about his amazing work with the snow leopards in the Himalayas.  And I may combine that with a pretty organic basil plant, since it’s my mother’s favourite herb.  And possibly a homemade card, created with homemade recycled paper – I’m pretty sure it will still be a hit.
So, we want to know: what eco-friendly celebration and gift ideas to you have for Mother’s Day?
