Life. Nature. You. Make the connection.

So why not exploit the talent of magnificent people around the world to help us get our message out? In the context of WWF’s 50th Anniversary our head office produced a film competition. All you had to do was produce an original film up to a maximum of two minutes on the theme: “Life. Nature. You. Make the Connection“.

The winners, announced today, will receive funds and full support from WWF’s global network to produce a special short film that will help us inspire people to love, value and protect the natural world. There was a winner determined by a panel of judges and another chosen by popular vote.
There were almost 300 entries in total.  The judging panel was presented with a selection of 40 videos which they judged according to four criteria: technical quality, overall impact, audience reach and how much the videos inspired to love and protect nature.
Here are the winners:
The Runner by Nate Dappen & Neil Losin (by judges selection)

Life Nature You by Myles Thompson (by popular selection)

And speaking of making videos, WWF participated in One Day on Earth this year, which fell on Novemeber 11. In an attempt to capture a typical day on this planet, participants from around the world filmed a part of their day. We’ll have an entry from Dan Slavik in our Arctic office, and from yours truly here in Toronto. It was a blast to work on the project, and I hope you’ll check our videos when they go live!
