Five ways to help on Giving Tuesday

The giving season kicks off with Black Friday and Cyber Monday as shoppers search for the best gift bargains. But what about giving back? On Tuesday Nov. 29, join in the worldwide day of giving by sharing your commitment to building a future where people live in harmony with nature. Here are five ways you can give back to the planet this Giving Tuesday.

1. Make double the difference for the “unicorn of the sea”

Living in remote and often inaccessible parts of the high Arctic, the narwhal is more sensitive to the effects of climate change than any other ice whale. As the Arctic warms and sea-ice conditions change, narwhal and other Arctic species are becoming more vulnerable. Donate to WWF-Canada’s Arctic Species Conservation Fund before midnight on Nov. 29, 2016 and your donation will be matched to have double the impact.*

2. Symbolically adopt your favourite species

You can support WWF-Canada’s conservation efforts by symbolically adopting your favourite species. Each wildlife adoption kit includes a high-quality plush, personalized adoption certificate, stunning species poster, charitable tax receipt and a reusable tote bag.

3. Give a virtual gift

Get ahead of the holiday shopping crowd and honour someone you care about by making a donation in their name. We’ll send one of our fun and inspirational donation gift cards right to their inbox.
These virtual gifts are big on conservation impact and low on environmental footprint.

4. Volunteer your time

*In support of WWF-Canada’s important conservation work, dedicated Arctic conservation supporters Patricia and Alan Koval will match all Giving Tuesday donations up to $100,000, made before midnight Nov. 29 in support of the Arctic Species Conservation Fund. In the eventuality that net funds in excess of the program costs are raised, they will be redirected towards other important conservation programs.
