Engage employees while going the distance for nature and wildlife

The pandemic has derailed too many opportunities for meaningful employee engagement. So why not pull together a corporate team and join our national Run to Restore Nature!

Canadians increasingly want jobs that align with their values, and COVID-19 has only amplified those feelings, leading many to take stock of their career choices. As the so-called Great Resignation continues, it’s more important than ever to hold onto valuable employees and attract great new talent.

One way to accomplish that is by providing your staff opportunities to support the causes they care about.

Employees want to bring a sense of purpose and passion to the workplace. They’re keen to connect with colleagues who share their love of the environment. And when doing good also creates fun, camaraderie and team building.

COVID-19 has unfortunately kiboshed many in-person opportunities for employee engagement, including WWF-Canada’s signature CN Tower Climb for Nature which saw dozens of corporate teams literally stepping up for a great cause.

So this year, we’re launching our Run to Restore Nature. This Canada-wide fundraiser invites participants to walk, run, wheel, or even paddle a 5 km, 10 km or 21 km route in their own community from May 7 to 15 — and still be part of a corporate team.

It’s an event that ticks all the boxes.

✓ It can help your organization walk the talk (literally!) when it comes to sustainability commitments. Every dollar your team raises goes toward protecting wildlife and nature across Canada.

✓ Do you have staff working remotely or in different parts of the country? This event is national, allowing employees to participate wherever they live. They also get to choose their distance and timing, making it accessible to just about everyone. Your employees can even get their kids involved, turning it into a family event.

WWF’s Run to Restore Nature also connects to your employees’ health and wellness goals, providing an opportunity to get physically active and enjoy the benefits of being in nature.

✓ Best of all, the Run to Restore Nature rallies colleagues around a common cause even if team members may not be together physically. It’s a fabulous way to strengthen employee relationships through shared goals, friendly competition and team-based challenges.
