Community Pandas Running in Edmonton!
The sun is finally shining and the birds are finally chirping. Even though it took a while for summer to get here, it didn’t hold back our amazing Community Panda Fundraisers. Melissa Colbourne from Edmonton couldn’t bring the warm weather in time for her May marathon in support of WWF, but it didn’t stop her from bringing the community together to get active, have fun and support species at risk and their habitats.
Melissa’s Story: Melissa is an avid animal and nature lover who has always been behind what WWF stands for. She also enjoys a good run and participates in many local events. She put her passions together and organized the Run for WWF-Canada, bringing dozens of runners out to Victoria Park in Edmonton and raising nearly $1,500 for WWF! To say thank you to all that came out in spite of the chill, refreshments, healthy snacks and friendly smiles were provided.
Everyone here at WWF would like to say thank you a thousand times to Melissa for her hard work and diligence, to the runners who came out to support her and conservation, to all their sponsors who generously contributed, and to all the Community Panda fundraisers who give their time to spread the word and raise funds every day. We couldn’t do the work we do without all of you and are humbled by your support every single day.

Melissa’s Advice: Although it may seem “a bit intimidating to organizing an event for such a trusted and well respected charity, WWF-Canada helps you out along the way. The feeling of accomplishment when everything is done makes everything worth it.”
