Coca-Cola employees give back by cleaning shorelines
by Baljit Lalli, Coca-Cola Canada
We are very proud of the nearly 1,000 employees from 30 facilities across Canada that got out and rolled up their sleeves to clean up their local shorelines. We kicked things off on September 13 in Halifax, Nova Scotia where our executive leadership team joined local employees to clean Tufts Cove in Dartmouth. This was followed by two-weeks of cleanup efforts from coast to coast.

Our employees were excited about the opportunity to make a positive difference in the communities in which they operate and live. Early indications are that we collected 7,385 pounds of debris!
As part of our cleanup activities, we also donated a total of 225 rain barrels to five local community groups. These ‘rain barrel drops’ promoted community water conservation efforts. As part of our125th anniversary celebrations, Coca-Cola is continuing our commitment to make a positive difference in communities across Canada.
The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup was a great way to connect with the communities in a way that expanded awareness and participation for healthier shorelines and water conservation. We know we can do more working with others than we can on our own. We encourage all members of the community to get involved, make a difference and help preserve Canada’s waterways and keep our shorelines beautiful and litter-free.
