We’ve all seen Jerry Seinfeld in “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” but WWF’s new web series is way better. Introducing…”First Dates with David Miller.” Why? First of all, my hair beats Jerry’s, hands down. Second, my dates and I drive around the city in a shiny new electric vehicle (EV) rather than the old fashioned gas-powered car that Jerry uses. And third, I got to hang out, have fun and get silly with some amazing Canadians.
With Executive Chef and Restaurateur Susur Lee, we talk about locally sourced and sustainably grown food and visit the beehives on the rooftop of the MaRs Discovery District.
And with comedian Mark McKinney, we discuss the adventures of city biking and Mark ends up climbing the wind turbine at Exhibition Place!
With TV personality Jessi Cruickshank, we chat about design and antiques and go bird watching at Leslie Street Spit.
Although these videos are fun and light-hearted, EVs can and should play a serious role in helping Canada reduce our carbon emissions from the transportation sector, a critical piece to our country’s overall effort in addressing climate change. They are well-designed, great to drive and a real alternative to regular cars for today’s consumers.
Along with these videos, WWF released our annual 2014 EV Progress Update Report today. There are currently 8,500 EVs on the road in Canada to date and annual saves of EVs grew by 79% across the country over the past year. Click here to learn more about our report findings.
Enjoy “First Dates with David Miller”! Eat your heart out, Jerry Seinfeld!
