WWF-Canada visits Polar Bear Capital of the World
During the week, students will be participating in intense fieldwork that exposes them to issues facing both bears and humans in the Churchill region. As the Leadership Camp wraps up, each student will create an action plan to help educate their peers when they get back home, in the hope of inspiring others to work for polar bear conservation.
WWF-Canada has been actively working in the Arctic for over 30 years addressing critical issues like climate change and habitat protection while working closely with northern communities on conservation projects that help ensure Arctic wildlife populations and their essential habitats are viable for the long-term. As such, we are happy to be supporting PBI’s Youth Leadership Camp, helping to educate these students about the intricate Arctic ecosystem and the important role they play in educating their peers and other Canadians to take action and help safeguard this fragile ecosystem.
