WWF-Canada Experts Available for Comment on Earth Hour success last night
Josh Laughren, Communications Director for WWF-Canada, is available for comment today. As the lights went off in cities across Canada last night, he was in the middle of the action at Earth Hour Unplugged, the official event at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto where more than 10,000 people celebrated Earth Hour.
After Earth Hour, WWF hopes people will continue to build planet-friendly actions into their everyday lives and will leverage the global support for this initiative to push world leaders to keep climate change on the agenda at the G8 and G20 meetings in Ontario this June.
About Earth Hour
Earth Hour is a global WWF initiative. Individuals, businesses, governments and communities are invited to turn out their lights for one hour on Saturday March 27, 2010 at 8:30 p.m. to show their support for action on climate change. The event began in Sydney, Australia in 2007, and has since grown into a global movement reaching more than one billion people. In Canada, Coca-Cola, Sears Canada, and the Toronto Star are the lead sponsors. www.EarthHourCanada.org
