Welcome to The Good Life blog

When saveourclimate.ca was launched two years ago, WWF-Canada’s goal was to raise awareness about climate change, and to explain why global warming is the greatest threat to biodiversity and sustainability.

Today, as the Arctic melts at a faster and faster rate, Canadians have become convinced that the problem is real and are looking for action.

And yet, while climate change awareness is now at an all-time high, hope is in short supply. Every day, newspapers around the world feature grim stories of species being pushed to extinction, sea levels rising, while governments meet to discuss the problem but make little progress on curbing greenhouse gas emissions.

At WWF, we are more than hopeful – we know that there are solutions to the climate crisis, and we believe that they can be implemented in a way that improves our lives. So instead of working to simply raise awareness, now we are working to help Canadians take action in their own lives. This, in turn, will be a powerful tool for demonstrating to corporate and governmental decision-makers that Canadians are not only ready to change, but are demanding that others do their part as well.

Just as The Good Life community offers effective ways to switch to climate friendly living, The Good Life blog aims to bring these stories to life. Along with the conservation perspective on world events, expect to see stories that share some tips and experiences as we muddle through this journey to The Good Life with you.

It’s true that climate change is too big a problem for any one person to tackle alone, but when we add our actions large and small together, we can be an effective force.

I look forward to living The Good Life with you.
