Sponsor a Climber and Help Save the Planet
Registration to climb in this year’s team challenge and public climb has been a huge success and has already reached maximum capacity. However, the public can still help WWF-Canada fight climate change by sponsoring a climber. Simply visit wwf.ca, click on the CN Tower, select the public or team climb, and click on ‘Sponsor a Climber’. You can enter an individual, team or group name, or type Panda Power to support the WWF-Canada team.
Last year, the climb raised more than $1 million and helped WWF-Canada mobilize industry and individuals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through programs such as Climate Savers, Earth Hour, The Good Life, and the launch of the Polar Bear Tracker to help WWF monitor the effects of climate change on polar bears.
The team challenge will take place on Thursday, April 17. More than 2,000 people will participate. The public climb is on Saturday, April 19. More than 5,000 people are expected to tackle the tower this year and prove how much they care about our planet. Climbers will compete for great prizes awarded to the fastest individual, fastest male, female and co-ed team as well as top fundraisers.
Canada’s Arctic is warming faster than anywhere else on the planet. Last year experienced the lowest levels of sea ice ever recorded, posing serious risks for seals, polar bears and entire Arctic communities.
Take the next step and help keep your city and your planet healthy – visit wwf.ca to sponsor a friend, relative or the WWF-Canada team and help fight global warming.
