Specialist, Digital Communication Platforms
Position Description
The ideal candidate for our Digital Communications Platforms Specialist is a high-energy, organized and creative project manager who will create and sustain high-quality sites, landing pages, online tools and general web infrastructure to help achieve WWF-Canada’s conservation and fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to optimize existing digital platforms and lead implementation of those that are the viable.
- Existing platforms include the primary wwf.ca website and CMS, the WWF-Canada WordPress blog, an ecosystem of issue-specific satellite sites built on various platforms, Blackbaud Luminate Online and the Shopify e-store.
- This includes intaking, submitting and ensuring the resolution of bugs and issues with these platforms.
- Working closely with the relevant teams, including our Communications team, to manage the creation of new platforms, including:
- Contribute to project planning, scoping, budgeting and the RFP process.
- Clarify and communicate project objectives and success criteria.
- Drive successful project delivery through effective use of internal and client status meetings, comprehensive project plans and management of project scope and risks.
- Ensure that all projects have budgets and timelines that maximize achievement of goals; ensure projects are completed according to schedule and within budget.
- Identify and enlist top-level vendors, professionals and partners as needed and lead their work.
- Edit and update front-end webpages and metadata and build new pages as needed.
- Maintain and optimize server infrastructure for wwf.ca and microsites, including AWS.
- Identify emerging and new digital communication platforms and lead the work to integrate those that are the needed into our digital ecosystem.
- Ensure all platforms and tools meet WWF-Canada guidelines, requirements and standards.
What We Are Looking For
- Project coordination with a track record of managing multiple projects within given timelines and budgets in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Hands-on and action-oriented with a willingness and desire to take initiative and think critically
- Ability to present effective and creative solutions to meet organization’s conversion and digital communications goals within time and budget constraints
- Passionate about the web and closely following evolving trends and innovations in effective digital communications
- Up to date on available SAS tools relevant to digital communications, e.g. Zapier, landing page generators, A/B testing and CRO tools
- Awareness of and commitment to best practices in SEO
- Google Analytics implementation and data analysis; experience with Google Tag Manager preferred
- Able to manage WordPress multisite network at super admin level
- Experience with web hosting and domain name management
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Javascript
- Experience with eCommerce systems
- At least three years of related experience in the above
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
Other Information
This is a fulltime permanent role with a preferance to be filled in Toronto but will be flexible to have the role based out of Halifax, Ottawa, or Montreal for the right candidate.
