Senior Specialist, Editorial
Position Description
The Senior Specialist, Editorial is an editorial expert that ensures WWF’s work is communicated across all platforms targeting appropriate audience segments. This involves leading the development of, or personally developing content for conservation programs and general communications for the organization. The role must ensure that all editorial content is of the highest standard and incorporates SEO and other digital best practices.
Key Responsibilities
● Develop and execute the editorial content strategy across all relevant tools and platforms through consultation with various stakeholders.
● Create, or lead in the creation of, various forms of content for specific conservation programs and general communications to raise the profile of WWF-Canada, internally and externally.
● Analyze content and produce versions that are conducive for consumption by various audiences (e.g., governments, scientists, other ENGOs, donors, and the general public) across various mediums (e.g., social, video, mobile, podcasts, websites, print, and broadcast).
● Ensure the accuracy and conservation goal alignment of all content and assign work when required.
● Ensure adherence of SEO best practices through monitoring and training.
● Lead the development of a master calendar that provides visibility into upcoming projects and programs, reflecting the needs and timelines of other stakeholders.
● Develop strategies to raise the profile of WWF-Canada, its work, and its staff.
What We Are Looking For
● Undergraduate degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience
● Expertise and knowledge of SEO, best practices, and emerging digital trends
● Ability to secure earned media
● Expert knowledge and application of CP style guide
● Ability to develop and track KPIs using various tools including Google Analytics
● Experience in creating compelling conservation content that appeals to different audience segments
● Experience in science, conservation, and technical writing and reporting
Other Information
Full time permanent position.
Some travel may be required.
