Legacy Giving Volunteer – Toronto
Position Description
The Legacy Giving Program Volunteer position helps us looks after generous supporters who have, or are thinking about, remembering wildlife through a gift in their Will to WWF-Canada.
Currently, WWF has over 3,600 donors who are in this group. This volunteer will help us look after these donors and assist with finding more people like them.

Commitment:
1 day/week; 4 – 5 hours per shift
Duration:
A minimum 6-month commitment is required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Support Estate analysis of “the departed” – the folks who have passed on leaving WWF in their Will. What kind of donor were they? Where can we find more like them?
- Support legacy program events, acquisition campaigns and stewardship activities
- Create library of supporter stories
- Update the analysis of those who said they put WWF in their Will but didn’t (false bequesters). How many do we have? Can we learn anything by looking at their past history with WWF?
- Conduct a comprehensive review of use of social media for legacy giving in Canada, the US and the UK. Put together a “best practices” template.
- Help WWF-Canada create its Legacy Social media strategy with special emphasis on sharing our new legacy video
- Actively participate in one weekly team meeting to deepen knowledge and understanding of legacy program activities:
What We Are Looking For:
- Post-secondary enrollment, graduate, or similar experience
- A passion for wildlife
- A passion for philanthropy, specifically in the area of legacy giving
- Fundraising knowledge
- Superb communication skills
- Listening
- Writing
- Speaking
- Computer literacy
- Word, Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with events
Would Be Nice:
- Experience in estate administration
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge
