General Assistance Volunteers – Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup – Ottawa

Position Description

The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is a joint conservation initiative of the Vancouver Aquarium and WWF-Canada.  To celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation, we are hosting a community cleanup along the Ottawa River on Saturday, June 24

WWF-Canada is looking for friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic volunteers to help us support our Celebration Cleanup event, welcoming over 100 attendees who want to roll up their sleeves to help protect wildlife with the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.

Where:
Petrie Island (Friends of Petrie Island)
701 – 799 Trim Road, Ottawa, ON

Available Shifts:

  • 9:00am – 12:00pm
  • 11:00am – 2:30pm
  • 9:00am – 2:30pm

Please note: Preference will be given to applicants who can volunteer for the entire event.

Available Positions

  • Registration support
  • Greeting guests
  • Food and supply distributors
  • General assistance

Special Requirements:
Volunteers are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately for the weather as this is an outdoor event (rain or shine).

Experience and Skills:
Bilingual French/English is an asset

Please note: Volunteers under 18 years of age require signed parental permission to participate.  Volunteers under 16 years of age require their adult/legal guardian to volunteer alongside them for their entire shift.
