Position Description

The Coordinator, Outreach is responsible for key activities that support achieving WWF’s goal of connecting 1 in 10 Canadians more deeply with nature.  This role will provide a variety of essential project and logistical support that will enable effective program and project planning, execution and reporting in the Nature Connected Communities unit. 

The Coordinator participates in program planning and execution and is encouraged to contribute creative ideas and energy to all aspects of the team plan.  The Coordinator will also stay in touch with external engagement initiatives and/or opportunities that can benefit WWF’s goals and/or be leveraged to amplify WWF’s impact. 

Regarding project execution, this role will take responsibility for key activities related to the promotion, outreach and implementation of current and new projects within the Nature Connected Communities department.  They will also help promote and support the delivery and administration of the Go Wild School Grants program. As a member of the Nature Connected Communities team, they will participate in other team initiatives as required.

Key Responsibilities

The Coordinator will work with and support the Living Planet @ Campus, Living Planet @ Schools and Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup programs.  This includes:
  • Supporting and implementing project activities to meet targets and deadline, including research.
  • Coordinating the design and delivery of promotional materials for specific projects.
  • Identifying and cultivating specific target markets for program promotion.
  • Coordinating stewardship activities that celebrate engagement and success.
  • Supporting the promotion, execution and administration of Go Wild School grants.
  • Supporting the collection of stories from specific projects that illustrate success.
  • Providing quarterly reviews and reports of engagement progress.
  • Developing and maintaining the quarterly calendar for volunteer needs and opportunities, including an expanded Panda visit schedule to schools and shoreline events.
  • Other duties as required
 

What We Are Looking For

  • Marketing and promotion background or experience, level of recent graduate or above.
  • Creative and energetic thinker.
  • Ability to take initiative and also work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the goals of WWF-Canada.
  • Good organizational skills that reflect an attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to work in standard computer programs like Word and Excel. 
  • Ability to work in Photoshop or other design programs at a minimal level is an asset.
  • In order to support the ability to transport supplies and travel these events, a valid Ontario driver’s license is requirement of this role.
