CN Tower Climb for Nature Event Volunteers

Over 6,500 climbers participated with over $1.4 million raised last year in our CN Tower Climb for Nature, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible enthusiasm, dedication and support of our hundreds of volunteers who were vital to this amazing success!
 

WWF-Canada is looking for volunteers to fill a variety of positions for our upcoming 30th Annual CN Tower Climb for Nature

 
As there are a number of different positions, we recommend that you carefully read the descriptions of all the positions prior to signing up.  Please be sure to note the date, start/end time, requirements and personality traits and skill set recommended for the position.

Volunteer Key Details

Age Requirements:

Volunteers 17 years of age or under must have written permission from their parent(s) or legal guardian(s).  Those 15 years of age or under MUST have a parent and/or legal guardian attend the event and volunteer alongside you for your entire shift. 
 

Orientation Sessions:

All new volunteers will be required to a mandatory 30-minute online orientation (details will be provided shortly). 
All volunteers on the Registration team must attend a hands-on training session prior to the event, which will be available on either Saturday, March 21 (morning), or Wednesday, March 25 (evening). Details will be provided closer to the event.
All volunteers providing support directly at the CN Tower will be required to attend a 45 minute to 1 hour in-person training session on a weekday evening (details to be provided shortly).
 

Time:

Most volunteer shifts begin at 5:00 A.M. and end at 12:00 P.M. (noon) unless otherwise stated, and it is extremely important that volunteers arrive on time.  
If you do not feel that you can truly commit to arriving by 5:00 AM, please do not sign up for those specific positions. 
We ask all volunteers to remain in their positions for the full duration of their shift, unless otherwise directed by a team captain and/or an event organizer. 
 

Volunteer Positions

The following positions have shifts that start at 5:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m.:
  • Coat Check
  • Food Runner
  • Fundraising Runner
  • Hydration Station 
  • Incentive Prizes
  • Line-Up Monitor
  • Platinum Panda
  • Time Chip Distributor/Runner
  • Registration (18+)
    **Note: Must be 18+ years of age or older & MUST attend a mandatory training session on either
     

March 21st (10:00 am to 12:00 pm.) or March 25th (6:00 pm to 8:00 pm)

 
The following positions have shifts that start and end outside of the standard times:
  • ​Base Cheer Team
    • Saturday, April 4th & Sunday, April 5th
    • 5:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
    • **Note: Position is at CN Tower
  • Floater
    • Saturday, April 4th & Sunday, April 5th
    • Shift #1: 6:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
    • Shift #2: 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Fundraising Room
    • Saturday April 4th
      • Shift #1: 7:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
      • Shift #2: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
    • Sunday April 5th
      • 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
  • Glass Floor – Hydration & Cheering Team (18+)
    • Saturday, April 4th & Sunday, April 5th
    • 5:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
    • *Note: Must be 18+ years of age or older for this position.
    • **Note: Position is at CN Tower
  • Photo Booth
    • Saturday, April 4th & Sunday, April 5th
    • 6:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Timing Tech & T-Shirt Distributor
    • Saturday, April 4th & Sunday, April 5th
    • 5:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Walking Directions 
    • Saturday, April 4th & Sunday, April 5th
    • 5:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
    • **Note: Involves working outdoors- wear weather appropriate clothing

Refreshments

  • Refreshments and some light snacks will be available AFTER 6 AM throughout your shift. Please ensure you bring snacks/breakfast for yourself to consume throughout your shift. As well, do not forget to bring your reusable water bottle!

Transportation

Please note that public transit is limited on weekends – beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Saturdays & 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Check out  Blue Line bus routes for transit times.
