Business Mobilization Research Volunteer

This volunteer opportunity will raise awareness about WWF’s work in the key fields of market transformation, sustainability, and employee engagement as well as support stewardship and recognition for WWF’s partners. You will support profile-building and awareness goals for WWF’s business mobilization work by sourcing high-value speaking opportunities for Strategic Partnership staff and tracking media trends in relation to sustainability and green business.  


Where: 
245 Eglinton Ave. E, Toronto, Ontario, M4P3J11 (potential to work off site occasionally)
When: July 3rd to September 30th 2012
Shifts: Eight hours per week, flexible within 9am to 5pm on Monday to Friday. 


Responsibilities:

  • Interview WWF’s Strategic Partner relationship managers and complete for each a template (provided by WWF) outlining areas of expertise in relation to presentation topics
  • Create a detailed and strategic analysis of conferences and speaking opportunities to profile WWF”s business mobilization expertise and experience
  • Track and analyze media trends regarding “green business” and “sustainability” to support strategic story development and pitches. 
 

Experience and Skills:

  • Strong research and analytical abilities
  • Academic training and/or experience in journalism, public relations, or marketing communications
  • Ability to work independently with objectives and criteria provided by the Strategic Partnerships team
  • Knowledge of business media (traditional, online and social) an asset
  • Knowledge of Canada’s conference landscape an asset
