Administrator, Volunteer Program
Position Description
Reporting to the Associate Specialist, Human Resources and Volunteer Program, and working closely with the CN Tower Climb for Nature planning committee, the Administrator, Volunteer Program will provide administrative and logistical support and volunteer coordination for the planning and delivery of WWF-Canada’s CN Tower Climb for Nature and our annual volunteer appreciation/recognition event. Our ideal candidate is outgoing, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and enjoys working for people.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment & Event Day Preparation
- Assist with the screening and placement of CN Tower Climb volunteers, Call Blitz volunteers, and Poster Blitz volunteers.
- Act as first point of contact for volunteer Climb-related correspondence (email and telephone).
- Assist with the preparation of attendance sheets.
- Monitor and sort applications; assigning roles appropriate to experience and interest.
- Assist with the maintenance of the volunteer web pages and application portals.
- Attend and participate in Climb meetings; reporting as required.
Volunteer Training and Coordination
- Coordinate the recruitment, scheduling and supervision of the CN Tower Call Blitz and Poster Blitz volunteers.
- Act as first point of contact for Call Blitz and Poster Blitz volunteers.
- Assist with the preparation and timely distribution of training manuals and orientation packages.
- Assist with volunteer orientation and training sessions.
- Coordinate volunteer sign-in stations and maintain attendance logs.
Event Day Coordination
- Assist with the preparation for the arrival of staff and volunteers; setting up volunteer area and organizing supplies.
- Coordinate the volunteer sign-in station; maintaining attendance logs for both days.
- Direct volunteers to appropriate locations.
- Assist with the delivery of supplies and raffle tickets.
- Provide support to the volunteer coordinator as needed.
- Troubleshooting as required.
- Assist with tear down/removal of volunteer area as required
Post Event Wrap-Up
- Attend post-mortem meetings; provide feedback and suggestions for future Climbs.
- Prepare comprehensive review of the event.
- Assist with preparation, distribution, collection and analysis of volunteer post-Climb survey.
What We Are Looking For:
- Previous CN Tower Climb experience a strong asset.
- Experience with large scale event coordination preferred.
- Previous volunteer coordination experience.
- Previous CMS experience an asset.
- A positive, outgoing and approachable personality a must.
- A background in customer service preferred.
- Highly detail-oriented.
- Proficient with MS Office applications; specifically, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with Google docs.
- A team player who is flexible to change.
- Must be trustworthy and able to use discretion when handling confidential information.
- An excellent communicator with first-rate follow through.
- Previous experience with VolunteerHub a definite asset

This is a paid full-time contract position based in Toronto.
