Overview

The Senior Specialist, Mid-Level Giving plays a vital role as a member of a highly collaborative team to drive the continued growth of WWF-Canada. The individual will provide strategic direction and operational oversight to Community Giving’s mid-level giving program for donors giving between $1K-$10K annually.

This Senior Specialist works closely with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure inspiring and effective acquisition, solicitation, and stewardship to mid-level donors. The individual will be responsible for building the mid-level program with the aim of doubling this key donor segment in the next 3 years.

The role will seek to engage WWF-Canada’s donors around conservation issues and inspire fundraising in both the immediate and long-term.

Responsibilities

  • Build and adjust the strategy for mid-level giving determining best approaches for ROI, increasing revenue & donor headcount.
  • Manage all fundraising campaigns related to mid-level giving, including adjusting existing campaigns for a mid-level audience and building mid-level specific campaigns.
  • Leading on all fundraising requirements for mid-level donors including: solicitation, acquisition, upgrades, reactivations, and retention.
  • Manage data analytics and create clear measurable KPIs to enhance mid-level giving decision making and strategy requirements.
  • Monitor, track and solicit mid-level donors to support WWF-Canada’s work by giving unrestricted funds.
  • Manage a portfolio of 1,000+ donors/prospects and develop effective fundraising tactics to secure ongoing annual support, cultivate for major gifts, and identify legacy giving potential.
  • Build relationships with a small number of donors directly and create pathways for donors to connect to the organization without needing constant direct relationship management.
  • Lead and manage relationships with external fundraising and marketing agencies to ensure quality return on WWF-Canada’s investments.
  • Manage revenue and expenses for the mid-level program and make recommendations for optimizations based on results.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications team to build out a series of events for donors to participate in and grow closer to the organization.
  • Contribute to campaign-level and program-level optimizations that increase revenue, cut costs, and improve donor retention.
  • Work alongside the Donor Relations & Services team to support customer service and donations processing as it pertains to the mid-level donors.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to ensure quality donor care, highlighting donors that should be transitioned over to major gifts, as well as donors that should return from major gifts to mid-level.
  • Assist the Community Giving team, as required, with other related duties contributing to the mandate and successful operation of the department and organization.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in fundraising management or marketing, OR 2+ years of work experience in fundraising management or marketing.
  • 7+ years of progressive related experience in fundraising and/or donor stewardship, preferably with 2+ years of mid-level giving experience.
  • Experience working with both large and small groups of donors and implementing strategies related to mid-level giving.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of how to apply data in decision making.
  • Knowledge of direct mail, email marketing, and digital marketing including cross channel marketing and how to communicate with various audiences.
  • Experience with monitoring and reporting on revenue goals and expense budgets.
  • Extensive project management experience.
  • Motivated self-starter who can take initiative and effectively work with others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a professional presence and manner; able to work well with staff, volunteers, and external partners.
  • CFRE considered an asset.
  • Understanding of conservation issues in Canada considered an asset.
  • Bilingual in French considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with First Nations Principles of OCAP, BC First Nations Data Governance Initiative, or other similar data sovereignty guidelines an asset.

Other Information

  • This role will require occasional local or national travel.
  • This role will be required to work occasional evenings or weekends to attend or lead events.
  • This is a hybrid work from home/work from office role that can be based out of any WWF-Canada office.
