Thank You
Graeme Loader was an amazing man full of hope and kindness, and has been an inspiration to us all. His journey ended too soon, but his friends, family and even strangers who were touched by his spirit have continued on in his name.  Graeme is no longer with us but he will never be forgotten. He is continuing to inspire Canadians and is still making a significant contribution to conserving the earth that he loved so much. Thank you Graeme and congratulations on doubling your goal.

Tragic News
WWF-Canada is incredibly saddened by the loss of this energetic, talented, and wonderful young man. We will continue to host his blog below, in his memory.
Graeme Loader, a 24-year-old WWF supporter started his dream journey in the middle of July 2014. Graeme was cycling across Canada, exploring our amazing country, enjoying its nature, from BC headed east, home to the Toronto area.  As a professional photographer, Graeme was taking amazing photographs and sharing them through his blog. He was also graciously raising money for WWF-Canada.
Tragically, ‎Graeme was struck by a car and killed yesterday (Monday, September 1, 2014) while riding outside Brandon, Manitoba.
Our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences go to Graeme’s parents, brothers, sister and all of the extended Loader family.

Graeme Loader is not an avid biker, but he is an avid adventurer guided by love and respect for wildlife and nature. Without any experience as a cyclist, he picked up a bike, some panniers and started his mission: to ride across Canada to capture our country’s unique and diverse landscapes through photos while also raising funds for WWF’s conservation efforts.

After tackling the ups and downs of the Rocky Mountains, Graeme is now riding across the Prairies and taking on the challenge of solitude.  He is not completely alone though. You can follow his journey on his blog where he shares his story and the amazing landscapes he has captured. You can also show your support on his Community Panda online fundraising page.
Graeme’s adventure began on the west coast of British Columbia, where WWF is helping to conserve quiet ocean habitats for whales and dolphins. Soon he will pass through Manitoba, where we are developing protocols for community-based mapping and monitoring of polar bear denning habitat. The next stop is Ontario, and Graeme might just make it in time to help out WWF’s Toronto office clean the shores of Lake Ontario as part of the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup. Together we are making a difference and protecting the future of nature all across Canada.

Graeme’s Advice:  It is possible to reach your own goals while supporting important causes…and have a great time doing it!
Everyone here at WWF would like to say thank you to Graeme for sharing the beauty of Canada and being a part of our efforts to conserve it. We would also like to say thank you to all of Graeme’s supporters who have contributed, and to all the Community Panda fundraisers who give their time to spread the word and raise funds every day. The work we do in Canada and across the globe is only possible because of you.
