Sweater Day at work and play

Grabbing a fun and festive sweater is on the to-do lists of Janssen Inc.  employees this week.  In the spirit of supporting National Sweater Day, staff at Janssen will walk into work tomorrow wearing their Thursday best.  Ali Pinfold, staff member and Sweater Day organizer for Janssen, sees this campaign as a rewarding staff engagement activity. “ We want to show people that simple and fun actions can bring attention to climate change and help us reduce our environmental footprint along the way.” For National Sweater Day, Janssen will be hosting an ugly sweater fashion show, and will be handing out prizes for the ugliest sweater. To complement this fun, social action they will have sustainability materials on display, an environmental related slide show, and delicious sweater shaped cookies.
James Bolton Public School in Bolton, Ontario, has been encouraging K-5 students to take the Sweater Day pledge, and create fun sweater crafts.

“It was a good way to focus the group on an activity that they could participate in and start to learn about some big concepts,” says teacher Nancy Sutherland. “The kids are having a lot of fun with it.”
It’s not too late to participate at home, at  school and at work – dig up your funkiest sweater and wear it proudly tomorrow. Let your friends and family know that they can take simple steps that will make a big difference in the fight against climate change.
