WWF Walk Coordinators Required – Toronto

WWF Walks are guided walks of Toronto’s harbourfront to demonstrate how the City is reconnecting to nature by integrating natural systems into urban design.  Volunteers will take an active part in the Walks by registering participants and describing the walk and some of WWF-Canada’s work.
 
Where:
Steam Whistle Brewery
255 Bremner Blvd., Toronto ON M5V 3M9
 
Available Shifts:
Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons; July 7 – August 27 
 
Start Time:
12:30PM
 
End Time:
4:00PM

Please note: While we prefer volunteers who are able to volunteer on both Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will gladly accept applications from those who are only available for single shifts.  There is also no minimum commitment.  Whether you are only available for one shift or for every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon throughout the summer, we will gladly accept your application.
 
Duties:

  • Register participants and accept payments;
  • Describe the walk and some of WWF’s work;
  • Engage with the public;
  • Recruit participants.
 
Training/Orientation:
To be determined.  (Very likely prior to the event on July 7).
 
Special Requirements:
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Volunteers MUST be 18 years of age

Experience and Skills:

  • Experience working with public and events;
  • Exceptional customer service and a friendly disposition a MUST;
  • A science background is preferred;
  • Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

Additional Information:
Breaks will be given accordingly and refreshments will be supplied.
