WWF-Canada meets the country’s top charitable standards
(TORONTO – June 18, 2013) – WWF-Canada today announced that it has been accredited under Imagine Canada’s national Standards Program.
The Standards Program is a Canada-wide set of shared standards for charities and nonprofits designed to demonstrate their compliance in five fundamental areas: board governance; financial accountability and transparency; fundraising; staff management; and volunteer involvement. It helps organizations mitigate risk by ensuring that staff and volunteers understand and meet their legal, financial and fiduciary responsibilities.
“WWF is committed to maintaining the highest possible standards and we’re proud to be recognized for our efforts by Imagine Canada. Transparency and accountability are essential to respecting our donors’ rights and ensuring that WWF can make progress in helping people and nature to live in harmony.”
– Sara Oates, Vice-President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer, WWF-Canada

The Standards Program was launched in May 2012. Imagine Canada is a national registered charity that to support and strengthen charities and nonprofits so they can, in turn, support the Canadians and communities they serve.
