Tour de Greenbelt mobile festival showcases countryside at its finest!

The beauty of the Tour was that any level of cyclist could enjoy the routes. And it was not so much about best race time as it was about consciously enjoying the greenbelt area and soaking up the wonderful fall weather. This tour really highlighted the environmental benefits  of cycling in a truly positive, fun way, engaging people to see that making ‘green’ choices like cycling over driving can be a community event!

I was lucky enough to attend the Saturday tour from Burlington to St. Catherines to promote The Good Life, which ended at Henry of Pelham Winery.  It was just wonderful to chat with so many great people over a locally sourced lunch and wine from the vineyard in which we sat!  We talked bike brands, racing strategies, bike jerseys made of bamboo and the preference of many to bike rather than drive. I went away from the festival so inspired by the hard work of the organizers, the positive conversations of the participants, and a new appreciation for the simple act of cycling and how it brings the environment and the community together.
