Senior Specialist, Relationship Management
Position Description
The Senior Specialist, Relationship Management is a key position within the Strategic Partnership team at WWF-Canada, directly responsible for maintaining, growing, and creating long-term relationships with the organization’s existing portfolio of corporate relationships. Key to succeed in this position is the ability to understand the partners’ needs, match those against WWF-Canada’s needs, and generate revenue for WWF-Canada as a result. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of current and emerging Corporate Social Responsibility trends and will relentlessly seek opportunities with other internal departments (Conservation, Major Gifts, and Community Giving) to deepen a partner’s engagement with the organization. The goal is to steward every existing relationship towards growth by creating shared value for the partners, ultimately leading to a renewal of their commitment to WWF-Canada.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Specialist, Relationship Management will oversee numerous accounts nationwide, in collaboration with the Director, Strategic Partnerships, and will engage in a variety of tasks including relationship management, strategic planning, negotiation, marketing communications and innovative development of opportunities. Accounts vary in size, industry area, level of complexity and nature of engagement. Although the responsibility can vary between accounts, there are a shared set of common responsibilities:
- Best-in-class execution of partnership activities and marketing initiatives, including identifying and coordinating recognition opportunities for partners.
- Identify new revenue-generating opportunities within existing accounts by encouraging partners to take on additional engagement opportunities, including sponsorship of events and employee participation in fundraising events and in WWF-Canada public mobilization campaigns.
- Work cross-functionally with other development team members, communications team members and conservation programs to integrate partners across WWF-Canada by aligning communications, following up on stewardship opportunities, and generating greater awareness of WWF-Canada partnerships and conservation work.
- Meet deadlines for accounts, including approval of marketing and communications materials and stewardship reports.
- Maintain and continuously update a record of interactions (correspondence, proposals, agreements, stewardship reports) with existing partners, including all public and media information (annual reports, press releases, published articles, awards, etc.) that can help steward the relationship to further growth.
- Maintain an effective working knowledge of the organization’s strategic plan and priority programs and be able to present these in a compelling way to our prospects and donors
What We Are Looking For:
- A Master’s degree in Business, Marketing or Advertising
- 5 years’ experience in a marketing, brand management or account management role
- Able to demonstrate how actions translated into measurable results to grow a business and/or accounts
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills, coupled with confidence and a persuasive manner
- Exceptional customer service and excellent organizational and communications skills
- Team player mentality
- Demonstrated passion or desire to understand the conservation issues facing Canada’s spaces, wildlife, and communities in a changing climate
- Able to translate the importance of conservation and of the work that WWF-Canada does to our partners in a compelling manner, both verbally and in written proposals

This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Toronto office.
