Senior Specialist, Management Accounting
Position Description
WWF-Canada is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable management accountant who will bring an analytical and strategic mindset to its Finance department. This person will be responsible for developing, maintaining and providing financial analysis and management reporting to help the organization deliver its financial and accountability commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting, Forecasting and Planning
- Co-ordinate the annual budgeting and forecast process by implementing and maintaining procedures to ensure efficient and accurate reporting.
- Budget software administration, modeling, training of staff.
- Analyze year over year results and ensure accuracy and integrity of data and information used.
- Identify and analyze trends and key indicators, anticipate and clarify future issues, risks and opportunities.
Management Reporting
- Maintain existing monthly and quarterly reports to management; create new reports integrating financial and non-financial measurements.
- Manages report design and updates.
- Training of staff on financial reporting, and financial processes.
- Ensure WWF-International Network standards are met.
Financial Analysis and Support
- Provide analytical support, insight, and guidance for internal users of WWF’s financial reports.
- Delivery of financial analysis and analysis of risks and opportunities.
- Assist other departments in the preparation of donor reporting.
Special Projects
- Regulatory reporting.
- Year-end audit financial statements and supporting documentation.
- Tracking of investments, journal entries and analysis.
- Assist with financial information system development.
- Reporting to WWF-International office.
- Provide back up as appropriate when team members are away.
What We Are Looking For:
- CPA designation or advanced standing
- University Degree, preferably in Business or Accounting
- Strong experience in management reporting and financial analysis.
- At least four years related budget and financial information experience
- Demonstrated skills in systems and report design, financial modeling;
- Highly developed computer skills in the use of financial systems, advanced spreadsheets, report writers and Microsoft Office software
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP and Management Reporter an asset.
- Relationship-building, collaboration and customer service skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Exposure to non-profit environment would be an asset.
- Experience training staff on aspects of financial reporting.
- Works well independently and under pressure to meet deadlines, and must exercise excellent judgment.
- Presentation, negotiation and diplomacy skills are required for working with WWF senior management and all staff, as well as auditors and other consultants.
