Ottawa Reception Volunteer
In Ottawa, Ontario, WWF-Canada hosts WWF’s international Arctic program where our mission is an Arctic protected and adapting to climate change. This volunteer position is your opportunity to meet and support the WWF staff who are working towards this goal. Canada’s global leadership role in the Arctic will be our generation’s single most important legacy to the world. Be a part of it!
Where: WWF-Canada’s Ottawa Office (30 Metcalfe St. Suite 400, Ottawa)
When: Starting immediately with a minimum 6 month commitment
Shifts: Two weekday mornings per week (Monday to Friday, 9am to 12pm)
Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors to WWF-Canada’s office in a friendly, courteous manner and efficiently handle their requests
- Provide prompt, professional response to all inbound calls and direct calls to the correct person/department
- Accept all inbound mail and assist with outgoing mail processing
- Assist with public mobilization events and administrative projects as needed
Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service with experience making outbound telephone calls
- Excellent phone manner and professional disposition
- Previous clerical or administrative experience in an office environment preferred
- Working knowledge of Windows-based computer systems and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Proven ability to carry out multi-step instructions accurately
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essential
- Bilingualism (French/English) is a strong asset
- Post-secondary education preferred
