Ottawa Office Reception Volunteer

Location: WWF-Canada in Ottawa

Tasks:
Assisting the Office Coordinator with the day-to-day reception functions; greet all visitors in a friendly and courteous manner, handle their requests quickly and efficiently, provide friendly and professional responses to all inquiries made by phone or in person, accept all inbound correspondence, mail and courier arrangement.

Skills required:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
  • Detail oriented, motivated, and can work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Previous receptionist experience, including use of photocopiers and computers.
  • Some clerical/administrative experience and post-secondary education is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Windows based computer systems
  • Excellent typing & data entry skills, using Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Understands and carries out instructions accurately.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) as asset but not required

Character/Profile required:

  • Volunteers must be friendly, positive, and enthusiastic about making a difference and passionate about the environment.
  • Excellent phone manner with articulate and professional disposition.
  • Must be customer-service oriented and be courteous and charismatic at all times and under all conditions.
  • Minimum Age Requirement is 18 years of age.

Total number of hours required per week: morning or afternoon shifts, weekdays.

Shift options:
Monday to Friday: 9:30am-1pm
Monday to Friday: 1-5pm

Start date: Immediate

End date: Minimum 6 month commitment
Minimum 6 month commitment, as per Volunteer Program standards.
