Ontario recognizes "Right to Dry" your clothes on the line

I’ve already written about how silly it is that clotheslines were outlawed in the first place – a relic of the days when using more energy was seen as a sign of progress and upward mobility – so this is a great thing to see.

If you want to get the “Right to Dry” in your community, it’s worth checking out this website from Aurora mayor Phillis Morris, who helped lead the charge in Ontario (and was featured in yesterday’s New York Times). But I think the final word should go to Aurora resident Rob Cook, a retired businessman, former Air Force officer and illegal clothesline user: “Using a dryer may have made sense 30 years ago when energy was cheap and we weren’t aware of global warming. It doesn’t any more.”
