Manager, Digital Communications
Position Description
The Manager, Digital Communications is a high-energy, organized and creative people manager operating in a dynamic work environment, responsible for the distribution of all public- and supporter-facing digital communications. This role will use all paid and organic channels, including social, email, mobile and desktop web, SEM, SEO, display, video, influencer marketing, and others to help achieve WWF’s conservation and fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of digital communications specialists, responsible for creating and publishing content for social media, email, video, web and other digital communication platforms.
- Capitalize on all opportunities to include strong and relevant digital components to WWF communications.
- Work collaboratively with communications team and other departments in the development of digital strategies, the creation and execution of digital campaigns and timely delivery of effective ad hoc content and features.
- Manage and optimize the organization’s social media properties.
- Manage and optimize the organization’s email outreach: increase conversions and engagement and grow list with testing, segmentation and acquisition strategies.
- Manage and optimize the organization web site to increase engagement and conversions
- Use data from Google Analytics, Hootsuite and other platforms to inform strategic and tactical decisions.
- Provide thought leadership and functional expertise to evolve digital best practices across departments.
- Work with third party agencies to optimize digital strategies and ensure all campaigns are set up for accurate measurement of success.
- Be aware of and evaluate new technologies, tools and products that WWF-Canada can leverage
- Manage partner and vendor relationships.
What We Are Looking For:
- Three years’ experience managing a team of people.
- Five years of experience in digital communications with expertise in social media, email, web publishing, SEO, AdWords, display campaigns.
- Strong project coordination background with track record of managing multiple projects within given timelines and in a fast-paced, changing environment; ability to guide others to do the same.
- Experience creating and managing digital communications calendars.
- Hands-on and action-oriented with a willingness and desire to take initiative, think critically and be a creative problem solver that can execute on your own and via others.
- Solid understanding of audience analytics and experience in analyzing and reporting on campaign performance to inform decisions.
- Experience working with Adobe Photoshop.
- Comfort with HTML and various CMSs.
- Experience with digital fundraising an asset.
- Bilingual in French an asset.

This is a 13-month maternity leave contract based in our Toronto office.
