Community Event Coordinators – Kids’ Run for Nature

The Kids’ Run for Nature is a 1K and 5K “fun run” fundraising event taking place on or around the second Sunday in June, 2017. Now in its third year, the Kids’ Run for Nature is excited to be coming to parks and green spaces across Canada! The event began when 10 year olds Jasmine de Pencier and Jett Jardeleza-Toole decided to take action for conservation while promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The driving force behind the event are the Community Coordinators – motivated families, individuals, community groups and kids themselves who are interested in hosting an event to engage with their community to help build a future in which nature and people thrive. All across the country kids just like Jasmine and Jett have taken the lead on bringing the Kids’ Run for Nature to their community. Historically, families and groups who have taken on this role have found success by sharing the responsibilities among kids and adults. Kids are the designated “Team Leaders” of the event, whereas adults typically manage the execution and logistics.
