Associate Specialist, Community Giving
Position Description
The Associate Specialist, Community Giving is integral to the success of WWF-Canada’s third party fundraising programs and other critical community campaigns. This role is responsible for contributing directly to achieving the stewardship and revenue goals of the third party fundraising program and will apply in-depth industry knowledge to make informed recommendations to develop the program. This role will support all third party events, while assessing and pursuing larger third party events that WWF will support. It will support multiple projects that support the execution of the Adoptions campaign and WWF’s CN Tower Climb for Nature, including but not limited to managing recruitment and engagement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the Community Panda Program (Third Party Events)
- Execute, oversee and monitor all aspects of the Third Party Fundraising program to provide customer service, manage relationships, deliver revenue targets and objectives within budget, applying in-depth industry knowledge and using data analysis to set yearly targets
- Oversee and grow the program, refining as needed, the new promotional materials and web based tools to deepen donor engagement and ensure that industry and organizational policies, procedures, and standards are met
- Develop and implement acquisition and retention strategies to grow the program, using data analysis and industry experience to set yearly goals
- Identify new opportunities for public and corporate involvement
- Process and manage administrative and data needs relating to the program
- Steward all fundraisers post registration and post event
- Maintain and monitor inventory levels of Third Party assets
- Process and reconcile invoice and financial reports as needed
- Produce and maintain guidelines, procedures and processes as required to support and grow third party fundraising
WWF’s CN Tower Climb for Nature (November – April Initiative)
- Implement and manage recruitment and engagement strategies for CN Tower Climb participation
- Work in collaboration with WWF Digital team to implement website development/changes etc.
- Identify and steward teams with high fundraising potential in cooperation with other departments as needed
- Report on registration and revenue
- Assist Events Specialist as needed on event logistics
- Organize, attend and participate in staff and volunteer training and orientation days
- Manage social media content related to the Climb as required
- Respond to public inquiries as needed
Adoptions Campaigns (July-December Initiative)
- Assist Manager, Community Campaigns as needed to execute components of adoptions campaigns
What We Are Looking For:
- Relevant post-secondary education including but not limited to (university degree in fundraising, marketing, communications, environmental studies, or business management)
- 2 years working experience in the fundraising area (events, campaigns and working with volunteers)
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate the mission of WWF Canada and ability to motivate others in a variety of settings
- Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple high priority tasks simultaneously
- Superior customer service skills, a deep appreciation of the donor motivation and mind set
- Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to be flexible, adaptable and creatively remove obstacles
- Ability to work as a team member, while meeting individual goals and expectations
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, PowerPoint and embraces the use to use technology to manage projects, databases and activities
- Able to work occasional weekends as required
- Basic understanding of social media tools including Facebook and Twitter
- Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot independently using sound judgement
- Positive attitude; ability to take responsibility and be accountable; ability to deal with change in the workplace and be innovative; respect for others
- A valid Ontario driver’s license to support ability to transport supplies and travel to various community events

This is a 12-month contract for a maternity leave replacement based out of our Toronto office.
