Overview

The Specialist, Marketing Research and Data Analytics, develops and delivers data analytics and market research. This role involves designing, executing, analyzing, interpreting, and managing data to support marketing, fundraising, and community action. The Specialist will support the Community Giving, Marketing, Philanthropy and Donor Engagement, and Corporate Partnerships teams by providing insights, reporting, and research to build the WWF supporter base. This role contributes to WWF-Canada’s fundraising targets by highlighting ROI and donor trends, ensuring effective use of insights to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support data analytics activities related to fundraising, community action and marketing to drive growth. (e.g., existing donor growth, acquisition, conversions, retention, and stewardship).
  • Develop and maintain campaign data models that enable actionable learning and growth, allowing teams to make decisions on campaign-specific ROI and forecast models for revenue projections.
  • Gather and distribute brand intelligence, marketing metrics, industry trends, and other insights with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage internal and external market research through the survey development lifecycle (i.e., field requests, guide experimental design and implementation, report back with key learnings and recommendations).
  • Facilitate the exploration and implementation of new and innovative marketing and/or fundraising solutions.
  • Coordinate contact management and CRM systems in collaboration with Donor Relations and IT, supporting donor engagement, product sales, and fundraising.
  • Develop and execute segmentation plans and collaborate across departments to ensure all data is accurate, comprehensive, and consistent.
  • Act as the liaison with external vendors to ensure smooth delivery of data and analytic requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in analytics, research, marketing, behavioral and social science.
  • Technical proficiency in using analysis and data visualization tools such as Excel, XRM Toolbox, SQL, Python, R, and Power BI.
  • Expert knowledge of fundraising CRM platforms is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with an outcome, delivery-oriented approach.
  • Proven leadership or project experience in planning research activities based on organizational priorities.
  • Fundamental understanding of marketing strategy, digital marketing, and integrated branding in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: an effective and respectful communicator who encourages and supports the contributions of others.
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing external partners and acting as a liaison to ensure smooth delivery of data and analytic requirements.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Post-secondary education in business, environment, marketing and/or communications.
