Overview

The Specialist, Direct Marketing provides operational support and guidance to WWF-Canada’s direct marketing programs with an emphasis on the monthly giving program. This role works closely with multiple internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure on-time, accurate, and effective monthly giving campaigns that support, build and maintain the WWF-Canada monthly donor base and achieve revenue targets.

Responsible for 18,000 monthly donors and $5 million revenue annually, this role is critical to the success of the entire organization. The individual will implement the Direct Marketing Strategy in relation to the acquisition and stewardship of monthly donors, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for supporters. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to attract new monthly donors, as well as maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing donors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of comprehensive fundraising campaigns related to monthly giving, including upgrades, acquisition, reactivation, and retention of monthly donors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to cultivate and retain monthly donors, ensuring a personalized and engaging donor experience.
  • Provide operational day-to-day support for WWF’s telemarketing, face-to-face and other monthly donor initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze donor behavior and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Troubleshoot and strategize the best approaches to resolving internal and external operational, vendor, and/or campaign issues as they arise.
  • Manage new and existing (telemarketing and face-to-face) agency relationships in relation to monthly giving placing WWF-Canada’s priorities at the forefront of all decision making.
  • Contribute to routine campaign-level and program-level optimizations that enhance revenue, cut costs, and improve donor retention.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of data strategies in collaboration with other members of the team.
  • Work with the Donor Relations team to support customer service and donations processing as it pertains to the monthly giving portfolio.
  • Coordinate estimates, invoices, assist with campaign-specific and monthly/quarterly financial reports, and make recommendations for optimizations based on results.
  • Assist with Community Giving initiatives, including events, as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience executing comprehensive annual direct response programs, including monthly giving programs.
  • A proven track record in the implementation of direct marketing campaigns.
  • Proven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Numeracy skills related to budgeting and data interpretation.
  • Excellent written, visual and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with external partners/agencies.
  • Familiarity with CRA, PIPEDA and CASL guidelines.
  • High degree of proficiency working in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work as a team member, while meeting individual goals and expectations.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
