Tell Me Tuesday: How are you conserving energy?

This has hit home for me since we’re already starting to work on National Sweater Day, which will take place on February 9 (mark it in your calendars!).  As you may already know, National Sweater Day is a fun event that encourages Canadians to throw on a fun sweater and turn down their thermostats by 2 degrees Celsius.  This may seem like a small change to make, but it’s a great reminder about how important energy conservation is and what a big impact it can have on reducing GHG emissions. If every Canadian turned down their thermostat by two degrees each winter, 2.2 megatonnes of carbon dioxide could be saved every year – the equivalent of taking 350,000 cars off the road!
All our talk about the importance of conservation has made me eager to avoid turning my heat on for as long as I can, even if I have to retrain my dogs to sleep on my feet so I don’t get cold.  (I’m working on it, but it’s slow going so far.)  All this has made me curious: what are you doing to help conserve energy?

Last TMT: It was great to get some “recycled” tips from the environmental lessons our friends learned in school, including “Give a hoot! Don’t pollute!” and “Take only pictures and leave only footprints”.
